There is no denying that there is something happening with the economy that’s hard to predict. Prices on a lot of things are rising and it’s becoming more and more difficult to get loans. This is causing some people to try to figure out whether they should be stocking up on items that may become more expensive as time goes on.

For example, let’s say that you have a health condition like sleep apnea which requires you to get regular supplies. You need CPAP machines and other CPAP supplies to treat this condition. Even if the price goes up, you will have to keep buying them. You can’t live without your sleep apnea mask no matter what it costs. So should you stock up now?

In general, it’s best to be cautious with spending too much money even if the purpose is to stock up on items that may go up in cost. It may make sense to purchase one or two extras of items that you’re sure you’ll need but it doesn’t make sense to go crazy with purchases that fill up your house. Instead, put that money into a savings account that will earn a little bit of interest. You’ll create an emergency fund for yourself so that you can afford medical supplies and other necessities even if the cost does go up in the future.
